BBC BITESIZE | 12 x 1' explainer videos, stills and activities
This series for BBC Bitesize considered the specific needs of post-16 students learning level 1 and level 2 functional skills in English. The settings were specific to different learner needs in two contexts: Childcare and Engineering. We cast real young early years practitioners and engineering apprentices and filmed scripted sequences on location in a documentary style. The novel element was that the documentary film was shot as if by a young film crew with interview questions recorded as live. The short video explainers and ‘inspiration videos’ are supported by activities based on stills shot on location rather than video frame grabs - all of which can be found on BBC Bitesize Functional Skills English Childcare and Engineering.
