FUR TOR LOOKING NORTH

One of the most remote places on Dartmoor

FUR TOR LOOKING NORTH | 59'53"

‘Fur Tor’ was shot on a summer morning after wild camping on one of North Dartmoor’s most remote Tors. We got pretty wet from rain and bog getting there the previous afternoon but woke up to this fantastic view.

We love the changing light, the moving grasses, the sheep dotted across the valley, the texture of the rocks, the blue sky and drifting clouds – watching the shadows crossing the moor conveys the scale and isolation of this wild place.

This Ambient was filmed from a spot just to the west of the main blocks of Fur Tor at 50°37'49.32"N 4°00'1.40"W looking towards Yes Tor to the North. This can be seen on the horizon framed by a niche in the foreground rocks.

The film was shot on Panasonic Lumix GH5S with Lumix 12-35 mm at 12 mm, f11 1/200th sec for maximum depth of field. Shot at 4K (3840×2160) All-I 400mbps. Sound recorded on Zoom H3VR with stereo line in to camera.. The camera was on a lightweight tripod so a bit jittery and we haven’t stabilised (yet) in post.
